We are so grateful for the generosity of all those who continue to contribute to our Monastery fund. If you have yet to make a donation, the details can be found on the donation page on our website. Any donation, large or small, can make a difference and regular weekly or monthly donations are also a great way to give ongoing support.

Property for our new Monastery!

It is with great joy that we can share with you the wonderful news that we have exchanged contracts on the purchase of property for the new Monastery! We anticipate that settlement will occur in late November 2018, if not earlier.

The property is a suitable 20 acre block located at Mathoura, with a modest 5 bedroom home, adequate for the initial needs of the Sisters. Its purchase price of $330,000 is well below our original estimations of what we would have to outlay.

New Carmel.jpg

This is one of the final major steps before the Sisters’ arrival!

Over the coming months, we urge you to help us continue to raise the necessary funds to support the new Monastery:

1. By making a one-off donation to assist with the purchase of the property and the various start-up costs.
Thanks to the generosity of many, we have been able to proceed with the purchase of this property. However, we have a goal to provide the Sisters with the best start possible and to this end we are looking for your assistance to allow them to be debt-free from the outset.

In addition to the purchase of the property itself, there will be other costs such as the Sisters’ travel to Australia and modifications to the property, including upgrading the fences and ensuring adequate facilities for a Chapel.

Your one-off donation now can help with all of this and ensure that the Sisters are welcomed to Australia with a solid foundation!

2. By pledging your on-going support for the Sisters through regular weekly or monthly donations.
There will be various ongoing expenses that need to be covered, such as the Sisters’ day-to-day living expenses and maintenance of their property, some of which (such as rates) will commence even prior to their arrival in Australia. Most banks make it easy to set up regular electronic payments from your nominated bank account.

DONATE NOW!

Your on-going support will ensure that the Sisters will have a viable future with us!

Just as importantly, we also urge you to join with us in prayer for the success of our endeavours as we draw ever nearer to the day when, God willing, the Sisters will be able to make their home here in Australia.

Novena to Our Lady of Mount Carmel

In the lead up to the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel on 16 July, we are asking all of you to join us in a novena for our new Monastery, which we will be praying from Sunday, 8 July. The prayers can be found at the bottom of this post.

We are so grateful for the generosity of the many supporters who have been able to contribute to our Monastery fund in recent months. With all the ecclesiastical and legal necessities already in place, the purchase of property for the sisters is the last significant step in realising their arrival in Australia. If you have yet to make a donation, the details can be found on the donation page on our website. Any donation, large or small, can make a difference and regular weekly or monthly donations are also a great way to give ongoing support.

Please help us to spread the word about the Monastery! You can forward our emails to your contacts and encourage them to follow us on social media. We are also keen to find people who would be happy to distribute pamphlets for us – to friends, in their local parish (with the appropriate permission) or other communities. If you can assist with this, contact us with your postal address details and a bundle can be sent out.

NOVENA TO OUR LADY OF MOUNT CARMEL

Prayer for Every Day
July 8 – 16

Immaculate Virgin and Queen of Carmel, you are the hope of the suffering and the consolation of the afflicted. Look not upon my sins, but remember only that I am a poor soul redeemed by the Precious Blood of your Son, and that my heart is sealed with your Son, and that my heart is sealed with your holy Scapular. Hear my prayer and if it be for the glory of God, your honor and for the salvation of my soul, grant what I ask in this Novena. Amen.

First Day
The beauty of Carmel and the Glory of Lebanon are given to you in your Immaculate Conception, O Blessed Queen of Carmel! I also rise from the sea of this world, not like you all pure and Immaculate, but full of sin. Help me, look upon me with your eyes of mercy. Amen.

Hail Mary … (three times).

Flower of Carmel,
Mother of our King,
Blossoming Vine,
Peerless and fair,
Splendor of Heaven,
To your children of Carmel,
Mother Divine,
Favors grant ever,
None like to you.
Star of the Sea.

Second Day
I give thanks to you O Virgin Mother of Carmel, for the gift of your holy Scapular, the sign of your Confraternity: O my Mother, make me worthy to wear your sacred livery, and may my heart ever be pure, free from every stain of sin. Amen.

Hail Mary … (three times).

Flower of Carmel, etc.

Third Day
Virgin Mother of Carmel, remember me who am consecrated to you by the holy Scapular, I place my trust in you, O Flower of Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Ever-Immaculate Queen. O Mother mild, implore your Son to hear my prayer now and at the hour of my death. Amen.

Hail Mary … (three times).

Flower of Carmel, etc.

Fourth Day
I thank you my Lady and Mother, for the gift of your holy Scapular. You know well my weakness and my malice, but I trust in you and under your protection I take refuge. O holy Mother of Mt. Carmel, despise not my petitions in my necessities, but deliver me from all danger. Amen.

Hail Mary … (three times).

Flower of Carmel, etc.

Fifth Day
Queen and beauty of Carmel, your glance is love, hope and sweetness. As the rays of the sun color the flowers, so also your glance gives to the soul strength and beauty. May I remain ever before you my Mother, and turn your eyes of mercy on me. Amen.

Hail Mary … (three times).

Flower of Carmel, etc.

Sixth Day

Flower of Carmel, etc.

Seventh Day
Most loving Virgin of Carmel, I acknowledge gratefully your immense goodness towards me; hear my prayer and after this my exile, show unto me the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus, O most clement, O most loving, O most sweet, Virgin Mary. Amen.

Hail Mary … (three times).

Eighth Day
